How Do I Meet People?
At Olivet we use a traditional approach to Bible study providing Sunday School every Sunday morning before our Worship service, beginning at 9:30am. Classes have been organized to appeal to many different individuals from infant to seniors. These groups meet for Bible study, fellowship, and mission outreach. Also, Sunday School is a great way to connect spiritually and communally with the body of Christ. Leader/member contact information has been provided so that you can reach out for more information about each class.
Nursery Ministry
Nursery Department Coordinator- Cortney McCall. Each Sunday morning, a Nursery class is provided for Babies during the Sunday School hour. This class is for children age 0-23 months. The babies are loved on and cared for and taught a simple Bible Story. There are two separate Nursery’s provided for the 10:30 am worship service. These Nurseries are for ages 0-23 months and 2 – 5 year olds and, located in our Education Wing. A Nursery for ages 0-23 months is also provided for the Sunday evening class time as well as the Wednesday evening Mission Group time. These Nurseries are fully staffed by church member volunteers. Preschool Ministry
Each Sunday morning, Young children (age 2 thru grade K) will discover what a kid’s adventure with God is all about. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn with fun, hands-on Bible activities such as music and art.
Children’s Ministry
Each Sunday morning, children (grades 1-4) learn a love for God’s Word. Bible lessons are taught in such a way that every child gets to participate and learn Bible stories that follows the Children Desiring God curriculum fun, hands-on Bible activities such as music and art. Intermediate Students Ministry
Young Adults (Youth) Ministry
Each Sunday morning, High School students (grades 9-12) meet to study God’s word, fellowship and have outreach that focus on helping people in the community and around the world. They participate in several fellowship activities which include bowling, bonfires, Christian concerts, summer trip to Caswell Beach and of course eating. They are also involved with missions like Samaritans Purse Shoe Boxes each year and other mission trips.
Single Adults
Single Adults seeking a spiritual community of other believers in similar life situations; college/career and single. This class comes together weekly to study God’s word confirming it’s relevance in the life of all people at every age. The opportunity for members to fellowship together and join/host events and social activities with other Christian Singles from other local churches and Association Events. The class will seek to maintain relationships with members that are not able to attend every Sunday due to college attendance or work requirements. Class Instructor: Phil Brown
Adults
Women’s Bible Groups
Men’s Bible Groups Two Classes of Christian Men are available to men. Our men only classes invite men to study and discuss scripture as it relates to issues men are dealing with. Married Couples
Olivet provides a Married Couples classes. The married couples class combines rich bible teaching with fellowship opportunities and outreach within and outside the church body. Our other married class is taught by Derick Estes. This class meets in our choir room.
